ASSIGNMENTS
CARCINOGEN
PRESENTATION
The class was divided up into teams of two and assigned a scientific article to read and present. Each article tested different chemicals exposures as carcinogens. My partner (Stephanie Street) and I were assigned an article about 3-Methylcholanthrene.

"This by far was one of the hardest presentations I have ever done. I'm not the best at reading and comprehending scientific journals. It takes me a long time to understand everything that is being conveyed. I was more than glad when I was done with this presentation. I want to thank my partner Stephanie Street for working with me on this project. I know I'm not the easiest person to deal with when it comes to these things but it was truly a group effort. You're an amazing partner!"
CASE STUDY
ASSIGNMENT
Our class was individually assigned a case study in which we were to research mitosis, forms of cancer and cancer treatments and then decide which were better for three hypothetical patients.
Case Study Assignment

"When this assignment was given, I actually could not wait to start on it. It was fun to do and was very informative. It also allowed you to stand in the shoes of a doctor for a second, which was helpful if a student was considering a career in medicine or if they needed to reinforce why they don't want to pursue a career in medicine. I'd honestly have to say the last patient was the most frustrating for me."
CANCER AND
NUTRITION
This assignment required that students examine their own diet in aspect they'd like, and describe how the foods they consumed could contribute to or battle cancer.

"I was very apprehensive about doing this assignment. In the back of my mind, I knew that alot of the foods I was consuming every day were just plain terrible for you. My fear and apprehension was only confirmed once I began doing research. I must say that I was most heartbroken about soda. It's my favorite thing. But this assignment has swayed me to be much more contientious about the things I put into my body."
